Mansfeld Josef was born in Vienna on August 28, 1819. He was the grandson of the engraver Josef Georg Mansfeld. From 1833 onwards, he studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and from 1845 onwards his works were exhibited in exhibitions with paintings of figural genres. The 1848 revolution was reflected in Mansfeld's paintings. Portraits can rarely be found in his works. Josef died on April 19, 1894 in his hometown, Vienna.
