Karl Korab was born on April 26, 1937 in Falkenstein near Poysdorf, Lower Austria and studied from 1957 to 1964 with Sergius Pauser at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. From 1960 onwards, his works were represented in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, for example in Brussels, Paris, London, New York and Tokyo.
Korab is a member of the Künstlerhaus since 1961 and a member of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. His works are in international public and private collections.
Korab received numerous prizes and awards for his art, including the cultural award of the State of Lower Austria in 1972 and the Golden Badge of Honour for services to the state of Lower Austria in 1997.
Alongside oil painting, experiments with polyester, gouaches and prints such as lithography and screen printing characterize his work.
