Anton Simm 1799 – 1873

born in Gablonz in 1799 and died there in 1873. His father was a glass cutter. Anton Simm was one of the busist glass engravers of the Biedermeier Period. For some time, he was leading a big workshop and left a lot of paper models of his engravings so that these works can be attributed to him even without sigature. He had a particular liking of religious motifs like Last Supper, 10 Commendments, but also of mythological and allegorical themes.
